Comparing the effects of Liraglutide and Dulaglutide in heart failure with normal pumping function

Updated

Abstract

Liraglutide was associated with lower all-cause mortality (HR 0.738) at 1 year compared to dulaglutide in adults with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

  • Liraglutide was linked to reduced acute heart failure events (HR 0.862) and hospitalizations (HR 0.927) at 1 year.
  • At 1 year, liraglutide also showed a lower incidence of stroke (HR 0.900) and hypoglycemia (HR 0.891) compared to dulaglutide.
  • The benefits of liraglutide persisted at 5 years, with lower all-cause mortality (HR 0.775), acute heart failure events (HR 0.820), and stroke risk (HR 0.848).
  • A reduction in myocardial infarction risk (HR 0.907) was observed with liraglutide only at the 5-year mark.
