A total of 5,975 adults aged 18-75 were examined for associations between seafood and omega-3 fatty acid intake and sleep patterns.

  • Higher total daily intake of seafood, EPA, and DHA is associated with a morning chronotype.
  • Individuals with higher intake of these nutrients may experience less social jetlag.
  • Consuming seafood, EPA, and DHA at breakfast and lunch is linked to morningness and reduced social jetlag.
  • Breakfast intake shows the strongest association with morningness compared to other meal times.
  • Causal relationships between seafood intake and sleep patterns cannot be inferred due to the cross-sectional nature of the study.
