Tirzepatide treatment reduced pro-inflammatory M1 adipose tissue macrophages and inflammatory cytokines in obese mice.

  • Tirzepatide treatment was administered at a dose of 1.2 mg/kg twice weekly for 12 weeks in obese mouse models.
  • The treatment significantly decreased the number of pro-inflammatory M1 macrophages in adipose tissue.
  • Levels of inflammatory cytokines were reduced, suggesting a decrease in adipose tissue inflammation.
  • Improved insulin sensitivity was observed following tirzepatide treatment.
  • The therapeutic effects may involve modulation of the ERK signaling pathway and promotion of M1-type macrophage apoptosis.
