Abstract

A hybrid delivery system combining liposomes and exosomes effectively targets activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs) to inhibit liver fibrosis.

  • The designed system, HCQ@VA-Lip-Exo, targets aHSCs by utilizing vitamin A modification.
  • Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is included in the delivery system to inhibit autophagy in aHSCs.
  • The hybrid delivery system demonstrates effective targeting and delivery capabilities.
  • Inhibiting autophagy through this method may reduce the production and deposition of extracellular matrix.
  • This approach could offer a new strategy for targeted therapy in liver fibrosis.
