Targeted nanozyme particles and luteolin liposomes work together to reverse liver scarring by reducing oxidation, aging, and cell death

Updated

Abstract

The combination of Luteolin-loaded liposomes and Ce/Mn bimetallic nanozymes effectively targets activated hepatic stellate cells (aHSCs).

  • Luteolin-loaded liposomes and Ce/Mn bimetallic nanozymes demonstrated effective targeted delivery to aHSCs in both in vitro and in vivo settings.
  • In vitro studies indicated that this dual delivery system induced senescence and apoptosis in aHSCs while reducing oxidative stress.
  • The treatment led to decreased production and deposition of extracellular matrix, which is associated with the inhibition of liver fibrosis.
  • The findings suggest that this combinatorial approach may enhance the therapeutic targeting of liver fibrosis.
