How Daily Body Clock Types Relate to Eating Habits and Body Measurements in Iranian Adults

Updated

Abstract

Among 850 Iranian adults, morning- and intermediate/evening-type chronotypes constituted 51.4% and 48.6% of participants, respectively.

  • Intermediate/evening-type chronotypes had a lower education level, with 53% having only a diploma.
  • 49.9% of intermediate/evening types were employed, compared to morning types.
  • A total of 11.6% of intermediate/evening-type individuals were smokers.
  • No significant relationship was found between chronotype and higher anthropometric measures after adjusting for confounders.
  • Specific eating habits were not associated with chronotype among the studied population.
