Less Frequent GLP1 Treatment Maintains Weight, Body Makeup, and Metabolic Health Improvements: A Case Series

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Reduced-frequency GLP1 maintenance dosing preserved weight and metabolic improvements after initial weekly therapy in this small case series.

Evidence

This retrospective case series followed 30 adults with weight plateau on weekly semaglutide or tirzepatide who switched usually to every-other-week dosing for an average of 36.3 weeks, with weight falling from 74.1 ± 2.4 kg at plateau to 72.4 ± 2.2 kg on maintenance dosing.

Caveat

The evidence is limited by a small retrospective uncontrolled design in patients who had already responded to GLP1 therapy.
