Updated

Abstract

A higher Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score is associated with a 57% lower risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

  • Participants with a moderate cardiovascular health (CVH) level had a 39% lower risk of developing CKD compared to those with low CVH.
  • A significant linear dose-response relationship was observed between LE8 scores and CKD risk.
  • Among the LE8 metrics, body mass index (BMI) accounted for the highest proportion of CKD risk at 24.6%.
  • Inadequate or excessive sleep duration was associated with 3.2% of the total CKD risk.
