Abstract
During an average follow-up of 10.9 years, 7468 (2.8%) cases of (AMD) were documented.
- Individuals with moderate (CVH) had a 14% reduced risk of developing AMD compared to those with low CVH.
- Those with high CVH levels experienced a 23% reduction in AMD risk.
- A linear dose-response relationship exists between the cumulative Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score and AMD incidence.
- Achieving optimal CVH could potentially prevent 9.4% of AMD cases.
- Ideal blood glucose and blood pressure levels are associated with reductions of 3.3% and 8.7% in AMD cases, respectively.
