Comparing tirzepatide and GLP-1 drugs in patients with inflammatory bowel disease

Updated

Abstract

Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) may improve disease-specific outcomes for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

  • Tirzepatide, targeting both GLP-1 and another receptor, may provide additional benefits for IBD patients.
  • A comparison was made between clinical and safety outcomes of tirzepatide and GLP-1RAs in IBD treatment.
  • Evidence indicates that these treatments could be associated with improved management of IBD.
